DE PERE, Wis. – Marian University NCAA men’s hockey (11-14-2, 5-6-5-2 NCHA) was eliminated from the NCHA Harris Cup by No. 13 St. Norbert after being defeated 8-2.
- Needing a regulation win to force a mini-game, Marian was able to get out to a fast start scoring two goals in the first 5:59 of the game.
- Junior Austin Nault lit the lamp for the first time this season at the 4:13 mark with an assist to sophomore Daunte Fortner.
- Then just 1:46 later junior Mason Richey scored his fourth goal of the season with an assist to fellow junior Ty Mosimann.
- St. Norbert cut their deficit in half with just 4:18 left in the period as Marian went into the first intermission ahead.
- The Green Knights would score a pair of goals in the second period to take the lead for good.
- St. Norbert iced the game with five goals in the final stanza. The final three goals came in the last 2:12 of the game with one being an empty-net score.
- Marian was outshot 47-22 for the game with the Sabres only managing single-digit shots in all three periods.
- The Sabre power play was scoreless on two chances, while St. Norbert was 3-for-6 with a man-advantage.
