Players of the WeekDULUTH, Minn. Freshman Ty Enns and senior Hunter Vorva of Marian University men’s hockey have been named the NCHA players of the week, as announced by the league office Tuesday.

Enns (Cartwright, Man.) is the NCHA offensive player of the week after playing a key role in Marian’s weekend sweep of Concordia Wisconsin, finishing with five points. Enns opened the series with his first career hat trick; with his first two goals tying up the game after Marian had fallen into a 4-2 hole. He netted the hat trick with the final goal to complete the comeback in a 7-4 win. Enns then posted another multi-point outing, scoring the game-winner in the finale of the series. He also assisted an insurance goal shortly after en route to the 4-1 victory.

Vorva (Kalamazoo, Mich.) is the NCHA defensive player of the week for the second time this winter and the eighth time in his career after stepping up in a relief role in his first appearance of the week and then following that up with an impressive outing in his second. Vorva helped lead Marian to a weekend sweep of Concordia Wisconsin, starting with 19 saves and just one goal allowed after taking to the ice with the Sabres trailing 3-1 Thursday against the Falcons, a game that Marian would rally and win, 7-4. He then stood on his head in game two of the series, making 36 saves with a .973 save percentage in a 4-1 decision. Vorva closed out the weekend with a 1.15 goals-against average to go with 55 saves, and held the Falcons scoreless on five power plays in the series.
