The Marian University ACHA D2 program had another solid season winning its third consecutive NCHL Hap Cup Championship and fourth title overall in program history.

After a 7-0-1 start to the season, the Sabres would close out the 2021-22 campaign with an 11-6-1 ledger and 6-1-0 mark in NCHL play.  This earned Marian the No. 2 seed for the conference tournament where the Sabres rolled to a title.  A 5-2 victory against CUW opened the tournament for Marian before the Sabres dominated top-seeded Marquette 8-3 in the championship game.  Marian continued its postseason run earning a spot in the ACHA Tournament, a feat that has been accomplished all six seasons of the program’s existence.  Four student-athletes earned recognition on the 2022 NCHL Hap Cup All-Tournament team led by Tyler Studant who was named the most valuable player for the tournament.  Joining Studant was Karl Lavoie, DJ Horne, and Will McCreight.

The Sabres were once again well represented on the NCHL All-Conference lists led by Chris Frederickson who earned his second NCHL Coach of the Year award.  Horne would be named a First-Team All-Conference member, while McCreight earned a spot on the second team.  Four Sabres were named honorable mention selections in Studant, Lavoie, Tyren Boots, and Ben Borreson.  Another four Marian student-athletes were then placed on the All-Rookie team led by Simon Ellingson who was named a second-team selection.
