CHICAGO – A tough fourth quarter saw Marian University men’s lacrosse (8-5, 1-4 NACC) fall at Illinois Tech 17-8.

  • Each team scored a pair of goals in the opening quarter.
  • The Sabres opened up a 4-3 lead after scoring two for the first three goals of the second quarter.
  • Illinois Tech dominated the remainder of the quarter going on a 6-2 run to go up 9-6 into the half.
  • Marian was able to cut its deficit down to one goal in the third quarter after outscoring IIT 2-1.
  • The Scarlet Hawks would dominate the final stanza, however, outscoring Marian 7-0 to put the final at 17-8.
  • Illinois Tech held a slim 45-44 advantage in shots for the game.
  • Marian had a 22-20 advantage in ground balls.
  • The Sabres scored a pair of man-up goals and held the Scarlet Hawks scoreless in man-up opportunities.
