MINNEAPOLIS – Marian University women’s lacrosse (3-3, 0-0 NACC) couldn’t hold off a second-half rally falling to Augsburg 11-10.
- Neither team could find an edge in the opening quarter as each side scored four goals.
- Marian was able to jump ahead scoring four of the first five goals of the second quarter to go ahead 8-5.
- After the two teams traded goals to end the quarter the Sabres went into the break leading 9-6.
- Augsburg then shutout the Sabres in the third quarter and were able to take a 10-9 lead going into the final stanza.
- Sophomore Izzy Newton tied the game to open the fourth quarter.
- Augsburg would find the game-winner with 6:06 left to play scoring a man-up goal.
- Marian held a 39-21 advantage in shots for the game.
- The Sabre defense was able to force 35 Augsburg turnovers.
- Marian held a 44-28 edge in ground balls and 14-11 lead in draw controls.
