DAVENPORT, Fla. – Marian University baseball (5-3, 0-0 NACC) earned its first shutout of the season defeating Crown 12-0 in seven innings.

  • Marian once again scored in the opening inning when senior Brady Zackrison drove in a run. The Sabres finish the spring trip with a run in the first inning in seven of eight games.
  • Sophomore Gus Walker then scored a run in the second before Marian pulled away with a big third inning.
  • The Sabres would score eight runs in the third on just three hits to go ahead 10-0.
  • Marian drew five walks in the inning and were hit by two pitches.
  • Zackrison closed out the inning driving in a pair of runs with a single.
  • The Sabres then closed out the scoring with two runs in the fifth with one run coming off of another bases-loaded walk.
  • Marian drew eight walks and were hit by four pitches in the victory.
