LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Marian University women’s lacrosse (1-2, 0-0 NACC) earned its first win of the season scoring a program record 20 goals.
- Marian scored six goals in the first six minutes of the game as part of a 10 goal-period.
- The Sabres would score five more goals in the second quarter to lead 15-0 at halftime.
- Spalding would end the shutout with the first goal of the second half but Marian scored the final five goals of the game to set the final at 20-1.
- Marian led in shots by a 48-6 margin.
- The Sabres were perfect on nine clearing opportunities, while the defense forced 19 unsuccessful clears and 34 Spalding turnovers for the game.
- Marian also led in draw controls by an 18-6 margin.
- Three of the Marian goals came on free-position opportunities.
- Nine different Sabres had multiple points in the victory.
- The 20 goals sets a program record for goals scored which previously was 19 against Johnson & Wales from the inaugural season.
