Marian University men’s volleyball (10-4, 3-0 NACC) earned its sixth straight sweep defeating Rockford 25-14, 25-19, and 25-15.

  • Marian jumped out to a 6-1 lead on Rockford and a 7-2 run later in the opening set saw the Sabres lead 16-8.
  • The Sabres were able to score another six unanswered shortly after to build a 24-10 lead and cruise in the opening set.
  • The second set proved to be closer as Marian led 19-17 late in the set.
  • The Sabres responded scoring five unanswered to pull away and take the set.
  • Marian was able to once again get out to a fast start in the third leading 7-2.
  • Rockford battled back to only trail 16-13 before the Sabres scored six unanswered to pull away and secure a sweep.
  • Marian finished with a 27-22 advantage in kills with a .191 hitting percentage as a team.
  • The Sabres had a strong match at the service line recording 12 service aces.
  • The Marian defense had 28 digs to only 21 for Rockford.
  • The six-match win streak is the third longest winning streak in program history.
