Marian University men’s volleyball (9-4, 2-0 NACC) opened a three-match homestand sweeping Wisconsin Lutheran 25-14, 25-16, and 25-20.

  • The Sabres came out fast jumping out to a 14-4 lead in the opening set.
  • Marian built its lead to as large as 11 on a couple of occasions and eventually won the set 25-14.
  • Wisconsin Lutheran took a quick 6-3 lead on Marian in the second set before Marian scored five unanswered to go ahead 8-6.
  • The Warriors managed to rally taking a 13-12 advantage before the Sabres took the lead for good with an 8-3 run.
  • Marian was also able to close out the second set with five straight points.
  • The two squads went back-and-forth to open the third set with neither team leading by more than three points eventually resulting in a 16-16 stalemate.
  • Marian was then able to take over scoring five unanswered points and eventually closing out the set at 25-20.
  • The Sabre offense had at least 11 kills in all three sets finishing with 42 kills and a .261 hitting percentage.
  • The defense for Marian also played well limiting WLC to 18 kills and a .092 attack percentage.
  • The Sabre back row had 35 digs to only 18 for the Warriors.
