MILWAUKEE – Marian University women’s lacrosse received 41 points to finish fifth in the NACC preseason poll, as voted on by the head coaches and athletic communication professionals of the league.

Aurora took 13 of the 14 available first place votes to finish with 97 points and earn the top spot. The Spartans were the NACC champions last season and earned the automatic bid for the NCAA Tournament last season. Behind the Spartans was Concordia Chicago who grabbed the final first-place vote and finished 70 points. Concordia Wisconsin and Edgewood finished with 66 points and 63 points, respectively, to round out the preseason NACC Tournament.

The Sabres were picked just four points ahead of Illinois Tech to take fifth place. Beloit rounded out the poll with 18 points.

Marian opens the season at home Saturday, February 25 hosting Carthage at 11 a.m. in non-conference action.
