MILWAUKEE – Marian University women’s basketball (6-18, 5-12 NACC) couldn’t overcome a slow start falling to MSOE 60-44 in the final road game of the season.
- MSOE scored 15 unanswered points in the opening quarter and outscored Marian 19-5 for the stanza.
- Marian opened the second quarter with seven unanswered points to trim its deficit down to seven.
- The Raiders responded with 10 straight points of their own to go ahead 29-12 with 6:01 until halftime.
- Marian was able to trim the deficit down to 10 at 34-24 going into the break.
- The third quarter saw MSOE rebuild its lead back out to 18 after outscoring Marian 19-11 for the quarter.
- The final stanza saw the defenses dominate as the two squads combined for only 16 points.
- Marian went 16-of-49 (.327) from the field and just 3-of-22 (.136) on three pointers. The Sabres shot 8-of-12 (.667) from the field in the second quarter.
- MSOE was 23-of-65 (.354) for the game and 12-of-31 (.387) from beyond the arc.
- The Raiders outscored Marian 15-9 in points off turnovers and each team had 14 points in the paint.
