Marian University men’s volleyball (6-4, 1-0 NACC) only got stronger as the match went on defeating Concordia Wisconsin in straight sets; 27-25, 25-21, and 25-16.

  • Neither team could find an advantage to open the first set with the first multi-point lead coming at 17-15 Concordia Wisconsin.
  • Marian would manage to take a 22-21 advantage but the Falcons scored three unanswered to go ahead 24-22.
  • The Sabres were able to fight off the pair of set-point opportunities and fought off a third one at 25-24.
  • Back-to-back blocks followed by a kill from junior Derek Wills gave Marian a 27-25 set one win.
  • Using that momentum, Marian jumped out to a 5-1 lead to open the second set and forced a CUW timeout.
  • The Sabres brought this lead out to 10-7 and scored eight unanswered to go ahead 18-7.
  • The Falcons rallied to cut their deficit down to as small as three but Marian was able to get another blocks to close out the second set.
  • Marian led for most of the third set but it was much closer to start with Marian holding a 17-16 lead.
  • With sophomore Trent Goo Sun at the service line, the Sabres scored eight unanswered to close out the match.
  • Marian hit .148 for the match with double-digit kills in the second and third sets.
  • Each team finished with 30 kills and 34 digs.
  • The Falcons had 16 service errors to only seven for the Sabres.
