Marian University women’s basketball (6-17, 5-11 NACC) led after the first quarter but fell to Aurora 91-64.

  • The Sabres trailed by seven at 15-8 to open the game but a quick seven unanswered points tied the game at 15-15.
  • The two squads then traded the lead back-and-forth with Marian holding a 28-26 lead at the horn.
  • Marian held onto the lead for the first 3:45 of the second quarter until the Spartans scored 15 unanswered and took a 45-36 lead at halftime.
  • The Spartans then outscored Marian 20-9 in the third quarter to pull away and cruised to a 91-64 win.
  • Marian shot 11-of-18 (.611) in the first quarter and 7-of-12 (.583) in the fourth quarter but was only 24-of-58 (.414) for the game.
  • The Spartans were 34-of-79 (.430) for the game and 11-of-40 (.275) from beyond the arc.
  • Aurora forced 18 Marian turnovers and outscored Marian 23-14 in points off turnovers.
