DUBUQUE, Iowa – Marian University men’s volleyball (3-3, 0-0 NACC) was defeated by a Loras squad receiving votes in the national poll in straight sets with scores of 25-18, 25-16, and 25-18.
- The Sabres were able to keep pace with the Duhawks for most of the first set only trailing 17-13.
- Loras was able to push ahead with a quick 5-2 run and held on to take the opener.
- The second set opened with Marian only trailing 11-8 before Loras went on a 10-4 run to build a comfortable lead.
- Marian once again only trailed 14-11 to open the third set but the Duhawks pulled ahead with an 8-4 run.
- The Sabre defense had no answer for the offense of Loaras who hit .425 for the match and had 40 kills.
- The Duhawks also had an 8-1 advantage in blocks and 11-2 edge in service aces.
