SHEBOYGAN, Wis. – Marian University women’s basketball (5-13, 4-7 NACC) fell to Lakeland 76-51 to open the week.
- The Muskies dominated the opening minutes taking a 20-6 lead in the first 7:06 of the game.
- A 9-2 run to close out the quarter saw Marian stay within reach of Lakeland at 22-15.
- Lakeland was able to gradually extend its lead on Marian outscoring the Sabres 20-16 in the second quarter and going into halftime ahead 42-31.
- Marian was able to trim its deficit down to as small as eight to open the third quarter but Lakeland was able to pull away at the end of the quarter.
- Marian shot just 19-of-52 (.365) from the field and 5-of-15 (.333) from beyond the arc.
- Lakeland finished 28-of-68 (.412) from the field and 13-of-29 (.448) on three-pointers.
- The Sabres committed 19 turnovers which led to 21 points for Lakeland.
- Marian held a 39-38 advantage in rebounds.
