BEREA, Ohio – Marian University men’s volleyball (3-2, 0-0 NACC) defeated Hilbert in straight sets and Thiel in four sets to close out the Baldwin Wallace Invitational.
- Marian opened the day with a dominating performance against Hilbert winning 25-13, 25-10, and 25-7.
- The Sabres had double-digit kills in all three sets and finished with a 40-15 edge in kills.
- Marian had a perfect sideout percentage in the third set against the Hawks.
- The Sabres kept on rolling in the second match of the day defeating Thiel 25-15, 22-25, 25-11, and 25-15.
- The final two sets saw the Marian offense record 12 kills in each set with only three errors between the two sets.
- The Sabre defense especially stood out in the win limiting the Tomcats to 28 kills and recording six blocks.
- The Sabre offense dominated against Hilbert hitting .459 as a team with three Sabres recording at least eight kills.
- The Marian defense also had four blocks and held a 31-21 advantage in digs over the Hawks.
- Against Thiel, Marian hit .266 for the match and held the Tomcats to a -.056 hitting percentage. The best offensive set for Thiel came in the second where they hit .062.
