Marian University women’s basketball (3-10, 2-4 NACC) defeated Dominican 70-62 in a NACC road game.

  • Dominican jumped out early on the Sabres scoring eight of the first nine points of the game.
  • The Sabres bounced back with 12 unanswered points of their own to take a 13-8 lead with 4:22 left in the first quarter.
  • The Stars were able to close out the quarter with an 8-1 spurt, however, and led 16-14 going into the second quarter.
  • Dominican led for the entire second quarter and another late push saw the Stars take a 39-30 lead into the half.
  • Marian was able to bounce back in a big way outscoring Dominican 25-6 in the third quarter and closed out the quarter with 11 unanswered points. This gave Marian a 55-45 lead going into the final quarter.
  • The Sabres used their momentum from the third to open the fourth quarter and built its lead to as large as 15 at 65-50 with 4:48 left to play.
  • Dominican was able to cut its deficit down to as small as five points but Marian was able to hold off the late Star rally.
  • Marian shot 25-of-69 (.362) from the field and 5-of-17 (.294) from beyond the arc.
  • The Sabre defense held Domincian to 3-of-16 (.186) shooting in the third quarter.
  • Marian took advantage of the charity stripe going 15-of-21 (.714) for the game.
  • The battle in the paint was won by Marian as the Sabres outscored Dominican 38-32.
