ST. PAUL, Minn. – Marian University women’s ice hockey (1-8-1, 0-5-1-0 NCHA) scored three goals in the first period to defeat Bethel 4-1.
- A quick start saw Marian score three times in the first 20 minutes opening with a goal from freshman Logan Crawford at the 5:51 mark with an assist from junior Brynn Weaver. The goal was her first collegiate score.
- Senior Melodee Eastman added to the Marian lead at the 13:36 mark with her first goal of the season, assist to junior Aeryn Olson.
- Junior Mackenzie Rosin closed out the period with a goal with just 1:47 left in the stanza. The goal was also her first of the season and came without an assist.
- Bethel scored the only goal of the second period before sophomore Sydney Schipper scored an empty-net goal in the final minute to seal the 4-1 win. Sophomore Dayna Jones earned an assist on the goal.
- The Sabres outshot Behtel 11-9 in the opening period but it was the Royals who held a 30-23 edge for the game.
- Neither team scored a power-play goal with Marian having three chances and Bethel two.
