Marian University NCAA men’s hockey (5-9-0, 1-5-1-0 NCHA) scored first but fell to MSOE by a 3-1 final.

  • Marian was able to get on the board first when sophomore Jordan Simoneau forced a turnover and lit the lamp at the 8:36 mark of the first period. The goal was his fourth of the season.
  • MSOE then scored on the power play with just 1:43 left in the period to send the game into the first intermission tied at 1-1.
  • The 7:16 mark of the second saw the Raiders take the lead for the first time converting on another power play.
  • Marian dominated the final period but MSOE was able to force a breakaway and score with just 3:46 left to play.
  • Marian outshot MSOE 27-25 for the game and held a 12-7 edge in the final period.
  • The Sabres had only two power-play chance and couldn’t convert either, while MSOE went 2-for-5 (.400).
