KOHLER, Wis. – Marian University men’s golf shot a 328 and 348 to open the NACC Championship in seventh place.
The opening round saw Marian shoot its lowest round of the fall at 328. All but two teams had lower second rounds as Marian carded a 348. Michael Cosenza led the Sabres after scoring an 80 and 83 and sits in a tie for 21st. John Elsen was one of the few golfers in the field to improve rounds shooting an 83 and an 81 to sit in a tie for 23rd. Luke Bufton scored in both rounds with an 81 and 93, while Jake Mooring carded an 84 and a 91. Rounding out the Sabre lineup was Jake Grabarek who shot a 97 and 105.
Aurora sits atop the leaderboard by 28 strokes over Edgewood and are led by Jack Vercautren who shot two-under-par for the two rounds.
Marian will conclude the NACC Championship in the spring at Stonebridge Country Club April 30 and May 1.
