MILWAUKEE – Marian University women’s tennis (5-6, 3-3 NACC) opened the second to last weekend of NACC play defeating Alverno 7-2.

The Sabres were able to get out to a strong start taking all three doubles match-ups. Aeryn Olson and Carly Paulson took the top flight 8-3 and Abby Okon worked with Katrina Pokorny at No. 2 for an 8-4 win. Julia Loomans and Melana Brunton secured the sweep with an 8-2 win at the No. 3 flight.

Olson and Pokorny had clean sweeps in singles action without dropping a single game at the No. 2 and No. 4 spot, respectively. Paulson only dropped one game in her match at the top singles flight. Okon also secured a sweep of the day at No. 3 with scores of 6-4, 2-6, and 11-9.

Marian hosts CUW at 10 a.m. tomorrow, Sunday, Oct. 2, from Fond du Lac High School.
