Marian University women’s golf carded rounds of 340 and 337 to finish second at its home invite, the best finish for the Sabres since 2014.

  • The Sabres were able to get off to a strong start setting the school record for a low round again at 340 from Rolling Meadows.
  • The school record didn’t last long as the Sabres carded a 337 at Whispering Springs to set the record again.
  • Ashley Graves led the way for Marian finishing second after rounds of 85 and 80 for a 165.
  • Not far behind her was Yinan Lu who took third place behind an 84 and 83 for a 167.
  • Kayla Gray was second after an opening round 82 and finished tied for sixth after a 90 in the second round to total 172.
  • Olivia Schueller scored in both rounds with an 89 and 84, 173 total, to finish 10th, while Katelyn Bucciarelli had rounds of 92 and 93, 185 total.
  • Lake Forest defeated the Sabres by just one stroke at 676 led by Gabrielle Krebs who shot a 161 for medalist honors.
  • The second Marian team was led by Lily Accola who scored 90 in each round to finish 15th.
  • Trinity Knudtson was next with a 191, while Amber Debolt improved by seven strokes between rounds to finish at 201.
  • Kaydence Harp and Samantha Gutzwiller rounded out the team with a 203 and 209.
  • The third Sabre squad that competed for the weekend was paced by a 200 from Emma Anderson.
  • Sarah Lach was behind her at 207, and Shania Houston carded a 220.
  • Taylor Schaeffer finished out the Sabre golfers at 246.
