The Marian University eSports Valorant team (4-0) stayed perfect with a 13-0, 13-5 victory over UW-River Falls.
MAP 1 – BREEZE
- The opening map was Breeze and it proved to be a breeze for the Sabres as Marian opened with a 13-0 victory.
- The Sabres opened on defense taking the opening 12 rounds.
- Marian had seven defuses, four eliminations, and one time expiration to take a commanding lead.
- The Sabres then needed just one round on attack taking the map with an elimination.
MAP 2 – ASCENT
- Marian opened the second map on attack and took the first two rounds by elimination.
- UW-River Falls earned its first wins to tie the game at 2-2 with an elimination and defuse.
- The Sabres were able to respond with back-to-back eliminations to retake the lead at 4-2.
- The Falcons didn’t back down taking their first lead of the night with two defuses and an elimination.
- The 5-4 lead for UWRF didn’t last long, however, as Marian took the final three rounds by elimination to go into the switch ahead 7-5.
- The Marian defense then took over again taking all six rounds to seal the sweep; four eliminations, two defuses.
- Marian had three student-athletes with a combat score over 500, two of which were higher than 600.
- Four Sabres posted a positive kill-to-death ratio, at least 25 kills, and double-digit assists.
- The ECON rating for four of the Sabres was also at least 111.
