Marian University (Wisconsin) celebrated the grand opening of its new Radiologic Technology Suite with an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, November 19, 2025.
This innovative facility was made possible through a $1.049 million Congressionally Directed Spending Project from the U.S. Department of Education. The funding—secured with the leadership of Senator Tammy Baldwin—enabled Marian to invest in advanced scientific equipment that will elevate hands-on learning and prepare the next generation of healthcare and STEM professionals.
“Radiologic technology is evolving rapidly, and this space allows us to stay ahead of that curve,” Brian Joachim, Assistant Professor/Program Director, said. “The advanced tools our students now have at their fingertips will help meet critical workforce needs and ensure our graduates are prepared to lead in a dynamic healthcare environment.”
The new Radiologic Technology Suite reflects a long-standing partnership between Marian University and SSM Health/St. Agnes Hospital. Together, the institutions are expanding opportunities for high-quality clinical education and addressing critical workforce needs at the local, regional, and national levels.
Radiologic Technology continues to be one of Marian’s most in-demand programs. In the 2025–26 academic year, it ranked as the second most popular major among incoming first-year students, contributing to the 47% of new undergraduates pursuing healthcare-related fields.
Marian University was one of the first institutions in Wisconsin to offer a Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology and has maintained Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) accreditation since the program’s inception. The new suite further strengthens Marian’s commitment to providing students with cutting-edge training and exceptional career preparation.
