JANESVILLE, Wis. – Marian University men’s golf finished in a tie for seventh place out of 23 teams at the Culver’s Edgewood Fall Classic after recording a two-round score of 619.
Tyler Demeuse paced the Sabres for the event finishing in a tie for 13th shooting a 75 in both of his rounds. Jake Sherwood led the Sabres with a 73 after the first round but shot an 82 in his second round to finish at 155 and in a tie for 37th. Aaron Rick shot a total of 159, while Maxwell Dye had an eight-stroke improvement between rounds finishing his second round with a 76. AJ Rambaud closed out the Marian lineup with an 83 and 78, respectively.
Marian also had another pair of teams compete finishing in 17th place and 21st place as well. Trent Thomas shot a 79 and 77 to lead the second Marian team and finish in a tie for 48th. Just one stroke off his pace was Caleb Martin who shot a second-round 76. OJ Garcia carded a 163 over the two days with Kyle Doyle and Jake Bell finishing with 167 and 171, respectively.
John Elsen led the way for the third Marian squad shooting an 80 and 77 to finish in a tie for 48th at 157. Jarryd Gano and Bailey Shelledy finished just two strokes apart recording a 166 and 168, respectively. Michael Cosenza rounded out the lineup for the final Marian squad with a 174.
Webster earned the team title behind Will Hocker who shot seven-under-par, 135 total, to earn the individual title.
Marian has a quick turn around traveling to Blackberry Oaks Golf Course for the Aurora Double Gun Tuesday, Sept. 3.
