MADISON, Wis. – The Marian University men’s bowling team averaged 196.39 pins over 41 games to win the second GLBC Event of the season.
- Marian had a strong start building a nearly 200-pin lead after recoding 5,096 pins in traditional play.
- The Sabres had at least 981 pins in all five games with three games over 1,000 pins.
- The high game for Marian in traditional play was a 1,064 in game two where Marian had three student-athletes with at least 230 pins.
- The Sabres then had the third-highest Baker total for the event at 2,956 to win the event. The closest competitor was UW-Whitewater who was 99 pins behind the Sabres.
- Marian surpassed 700 pins in three of the four sets averaging a 195.25 in the third set.
- That third set saw Marian bowl a 213 for its highest game of Baker play, it was one of two games where Marian surpassed 200 pins.
- Marian also had a junior varsity squad compete that took second place behind UW-Whitewater by just 75 pins at 7,210 pins for a 175.85 average.
- The junior varsity squad had the second-highest traditional score at 4,509 and the highest Baker score of the field at 2,701.
