The clinical component of the program prepares you for actual work situations and responsibilities through intensive hands-on experience in clinical courses at an affiliate site, including the Aurora St. Luke’s (Milwaukee) and UW Hospital (Madison) clinics.
Students accepted into the affiliate program continue as Marian students and earn their Bachelor of Science degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography upon completion of the affiliate DMS program. A national licensure exam at the end of this training provides employers with evidence of the quality and capabilities of students who complete the program.

With a solid background in sonography and an emphasis on providing quality care and compassion to patients, you’ll find our program will help you become a top medical professional in the industry.
Upon completion of (or enrollment in) all prerequisite coursework, students are eligible for application to the clinical training component of the program. These programs offer a 21 to 24-month, full-time, hospital-based educational experience that prepares students for a career in the field of diagnostic medical sonography.
During their time at one of the clinical affiliates, students remain Marian students. Upon competition of these requirements, students receive a Marian degree.
