Empower your students with engaging, tailored library instruction sessions, workshops, or classroom visits. Our library staff collaborates with faculty to create impactful experiences that support research and academic growth. To schedule a session, please provide:

  • Details about the project or assignment, including the types of sources and research topics students will need.
  • The location of your class (on campus or an outreach site like CHP or a medical center).
  • Your preferred date and time to ensure staff and space availability.

Students come to Cardinal Meyer Library with diverse research skills, and we’re here to bridge the gaps. Scheduling a library instructional session ensures your students gain confidence and proficiency in using scholarly resources like books and peer-reviewed journals. If a session isn’t feasible, sharing your research assignment with us helps us better support your students when they seek assistance. Encourage students to tap into the library’s rich resources by requiring scholarly sources such as books and peer-reviewed journals.

Ensure your students have the best resources for success by checking that the library subscribes to the materials you want them to use—especially if you’re new or teach at multiple institutions. Library access evolves, so reach out for recommendations if needed. Be specific in your instructions: name databases precisely (e.g., “CINAHL” instead of “EBSCOhost”) and provide accurate titles and full citations for journals, articles, or books.

Enhance your MO2 courses by seamlessly integrating library resources. To ensure smooth access for students, always use the Permalink provided by the resource—not the browser URL, which may lead to errors. If you’re assigning eBooks, check for unlimited access so multiple students can use them simultaneously. Unsure about permalinks or access types? The library is here to help you make the right connections, ensuring your students have uninterrupted access to the materials they need to thrive.

Together we can make the research process seamless, impactful, and truly meaningful.
