International Students
A Home Away from Home
Throughout the Marian University campus, you will see “Welcome” banners in the native languages of our international students, because we want you to know you are welcomed and valued here. Marian University is a wonderful place to immerse yourself in the culture of the United States. We greatly value our students sharing what they love and what is unique about their own culture, to expand the global perspectives and learning of everyone in our community.

Sabre Spotlight
Marian periodically offers its students the chance to step in front of their peers and share experiences, perspectives, and viewpoints. During a recent Flag Ceremony, where Marian raises flags for new students, Uros Gatic, from Kragujevac, Serbia, had an opportunity to install his own “Welcome” banner with the Serbian flag. There are banners throughout the Marian University campus with the flag and “welcome” spelled out in the native language of all our international students. Uros was a Business Administration major and a member of the Marian Men’s Basketball team. International students also have an opportunity to participate in a flag ceremony in the Meyer Library, where they can talk about their home country, share experiences, perspectives and viewpoints, and take questions from the audience.
