Accepted Transfer Credits
Marian University Lets You Transfer up to 90 Credits
Our transfer-friendly policy is built to support you as you continue your higher education adventure. Whether you have credits from another accredited institution, several years of relevant work experience, or are a military veteran, we can help you turn that experience into success. If you have a GPA of at least 2.0, Marian University will evaluate your credit and allow you to transfer up to 90 credits.
How Marian University Awards Transfer Credit
The Office of the Registrar evaluates, verifies, and will award transfer credit based on: faculty evaluation of the quality, comparability, and appropriateness of the learning experience at other colleges and universities, existing articulation agreements, and other formal arrangements with higher learning institutions or agencies.
Marian University Values Your Academic Achievements and Real-World Experience
Maximize your transfer credits so you can complete your degree sooner, saving you time and money. Some programs have an expiration date on their allowable transfer credits. Students who have earned credit for courses completed at colleges and universities that are not accredited by a regional accrediting organization recognized by CHEA may petition the Office of the Registrar to conduct a transfer evaluation of those credits according to Marian University policy. Marian University will evaluate and accept transfer credits from these three sources.
Note: Each program has its own allowable transfer credit policy, and transferred courses are not included in the Marian University GPA calculation.
Undergraduate Course Credit Transfer
Marian University generally accepts course credits earned at regionally accrediting organizations recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or nationally accredited institutions or candidates for accreditation if the undergraduate grades are C- or above.
Courses are evaluated based on equivalent course offerings at Marian University and, if accepted, may be counted toward meeting graduation and degree requirements. College deans, department chairs, program directors, or faculty, shall determine those courses that meet major requirements.
