Lindsey Kraig
Lindsey Kraig is an Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice and a Co-Director of the Honors Program at Marian University. She brings a wealth of legal knowledge from a decade of practicing law, teaching a variety of classes that focus on the legal aspects of the criminal justice system. Some of her favorite courses to teach include Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, Juvenile Law, Judicial Practice, Rules of Evidence, and Crisis Intervention and Management. Her teaching philosophy focuses on building personal connections, setting high expectations, making content engaging, and teaching how to apply course concepts in real-world situations.
Kraig started out as an Adjunct Instructor at Marian in March 2019 and was elevated to Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice in August 2022. Prior to Marian, Kraig practiced law in Wisconsin with Buelow, Vetter, Buikema, Olson & Vliet, LLC in Waukesha, and Jaskolski & Jaskolski, S.C. in Greenfield. Her expertise included family law, criminal OWI and traffic matters, school law, and labor and employment law.
She earned her Juris Doctor, Summa Cum Laude, from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2009, where she was ranked number one in her class out of 419 students. Her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration is from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she graduated with Highest Honors in 2005.
Outside of academia, Kraig enjoys spending time with her husband of twenty years, Steve, their two children, George, 11, and Janie, 9, and their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Sally. Her family enjoys downhill skiing, golfing, and swimming, and has a particular fondness for mini golf. Kraig also enjoys coaching elementary basketball and middle school cheerleading.
