The #YouAreWelcomeHere scholarship recognizes international students who have a vision for enhancing intercultural understanding. Marian University may award eligible international students scholarships up to $15,000. Those international students who fit all the eligibility criteria may apply and submit the essay to be eligible for an additional $1,000 #YouAreWelcomeHere scholarship. The #YouAreWelcomeHere scholarship is competitive and will only be granted to a maximum of 4 students per academic year. Students who receive this additional award can renew it annually pending satisfactory academic progress, and continued full-time enrollment status.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Be a first-year international applicant. An international applicant is an individual who holds citizenship in a country outside the United States and who does not also possess US citizenship or permanent residency.
  • Attend (or have graduated from) a secondary school outside of the United States.
  • Demonstrate interest and personal initiative in activities involving intercultural learning and exchange.

  • Submit the one-page #YouAreWelcomeHere application and essay (see details below) by March 15, 2019.
  • If awarded a scholarship, claim it by submitting a tuition deposit ($100 US dollars) by April 15, 2019.
