Alyssa Gruett is a Board-Certified Art Therapist, a Licensed Professional Counselor, and a Registered Yoga Teacher. She earned her master’s degree in Art Therapy, with an emphasis in Counseling, from Mount Mary University in 2013 and her bachelor’s degree in Art Education from UW-Oshkosh in 2007. She joined Marian in 2018 and now directs the Expressive and Therapeutic Arts program. In addition to teaching, she is an Art Therapist in Appleton, working with a variety of clientele, including those experiencing mental health concerns, significant life transitions, and people with developmental disabilities. Community development is also deeply important to her, and she loves working with new art therapists to help them promote art therapy opportunities within the community. She believes in the healing powers of the creative arts and enjoys sharing how the creative process can be used for reflection, relationship building, and self-expression.
