Position Title: Regional Admission Recruiter (Chicago Metropolitan Area)

This position promotes and supports the learning experience of Marian University students by, managing a territory critical to Marian University’s aggressive national growth strategy and will focus on the planning, execution, evaluation and recruitment of students from the Chicago metropolitan area.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Manage a territory critical to Marian University’s aggressive national growth strategy
  2. Will operate out of a home office that allows for the required travel in the established territory, as well as the ability to work autonomously; use past data to plan and arrange all phases of travel.
  3. Increase the number of students interested in Marian University through both tested and proven recruiting methods and non-traditional creative methods.
  4. Represent Marian University through a variety of events within the territory, including (but not limited to); information sessions, college fairs, admissions panels, high school visits, and other off-campus events such as meals and one-on-one sessions
  5. Develop and establish relationships with high school counselors, independent counselors, and community-based organizations within the territory, helping them to understand admissions policies and learn about opportunities for their students
  6. Plan and execute recruitment events to maximize outreach
  7. Serve as the primary admissions contact for students and counselors within the territory, which includes handling a large volume of email and phone inquiries
  8. Vigilantly work on yield activity throughout the late fall and early spring through event planning, personal outreach via phone, text and email, and creating opportunities for prospective students to visit campus. – Assist with application review throughout the recruiting cycle.
  9. Ensure a strong connection to campus by consistently expanding working knowledge of Marian University and be able to present that knowledge in a meaningful way to prospective students and their families.
  10. Participate in conferences, workshops, and meetings that provide information or opportunities to assist in improving or increasing the effectiveness of recruitment and enrolling undergraduate students.
  11. Commit to learning about continuous improvement strategies and applying them to everyday work.
  12. Travel to Marian University approximately once a month for training, updates, special events, and for other occasions in support of the Undergraduate Admissions Office
  13. Serves as an active member of the Enrollment team; assists with special programs and research projects; participates in the development and implementation of enrollment strategies.
  14. Provides accurate information about Marian University’s degree programs and admission procedures and works with students from the inquiry stage through to beginning of the fall semester.
  15. Provides financial aid information and options to prospective students, and their families.
  16. Maintains confidentiality and security of all information and records.
  17. Completes student leads on a timely basis by contacting them through mail, telephone, texting, campus visits, social media, email and public appearances.
  18. Maintains a positive work environment by cooperating in a professional manner with the University Community.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and SKILLS REQUIRED:

  1. Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred.
  2. Previous collegiate recruiting experience required.
  3. Must have willingness to work nights and weekends.
  4. Ability to work independently to meet deadlines
  5. Candidate must demonstrate great organizational skills in addition to writing and typing skills, interpersonal skills, and superior leadership skills.
  6. Ethical comportment and high regard for confidentiality and security of all student information and records.
  7. Ability to work with a diverse group of faculty, staff and students to develop strong relationships with colleagues, staff, administrators, students and the general public
  8. Flexibility with an evolving work environment
  9. Valid driver’s license is required.
  10. There must be willingness to support the Mission and Core Values of the University.
