MILWAUKEE – Marian University men’s basketball (6-16, 4-13 NACC) was defeated by Wisconsin Lutheran 86-74 in NACC action.
The Warriors led by as much as 12 in the opening half but in the final 3:34 Marian would score 10 unanswered points to cut their deficit down to 35-33 at the break. The Sabres used the momentum to open the second half on a 9-2 run to take a 42-37 lead with 16:50 left to play. Wisconsin Lutheran was able to take the lead for good shortly after and cruise to the victory.
Four Sabres finished in double-digits for scoring led by sophomore Tavaris McCullough who had a team-high 23 points to go with five assists. Senior Tyrese Pinson added 12 points and had five rebounds to go with three assists and three steals.
Marian hosts Concordia Chicago Tuesday, February 12 for a 7 p.m. tip in NACC action.
