Miller (Anoka, Minn.) recorded six points, three goals and three assists, in eight games to lead the Marian offense during the month of November. After going pointless in the first two games of the month, she went on to record at least one point in four of the final six games. She had a pair of multi-point games with a goal and an assist in a tie against Concordia Wisconsin and a goal and a tie once again in a tie with Trine. Miller currently leads the Sabres in scoring for the season with four goals and three assists for seven points.
Vorva (Kalamazoo, Mich.) had a big month in goal for Marian posting a 5-1-1 record for the month with a 1.42 goals against average. The goalie won back-to-back NCHA Defensive Player of the Week honors after leading Marian to a perfect 4-0-0 start. He played a crucial role in an upset of then-ranked No. 2 Adrian making 46 saves and holding the Bulldogs scoreless on six power play opportunities. Vorva allowed two or fewer goals in all but one game during November and his lone loss came against the top-ranked team in the nation, UW-Stevens Point. He also posted a .947 save percentage for the month and made a total of 180 saves with a 31-save shutout against Finlandia.
The Marian women’s hockey travel to UW-Stevens Point tomorrow, Tuesday, December 4, before closing out the first half of the season at home against Augsburg at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 8.
As for the Sabre men’s hockey team, Marian will next travel to No. 6/8 UW-Eau Claire for a non-conference game Saturday, December 8. The Sabres then round out the first part of the season at home against Concordia Wisconsin Wednesday, December 12 at 8 p.m.
