TRIO-Student Support Services (SSS) and Upward Bound Math and Science programs (UBMS) grants were renewed for the 2018-2019 school year. The TRIO-SSS program provides financial assistance for first-generation college students, students with low income, and students with disabilities. The UBMS program, also a TRIO program, serves at-risk high school students by providing academic opportunities in the STEM field.

The TRIO-SSS program receives $220,000 annually which provides 140 students with financial aid, financial skills, career skills, and goal setting to earn a bachelor’s degree. Additionally, UBMS receives approximately $260,000 annually, and this year the funding was increased by 4.25%. The program has also received a one-time supplemental grant of $40,000 to support classes, summer camp, travel and food costs, and registration.
