Thorogood named NCHA Offensive Player of the Week

WAUKESHA, Wis. – After a big non-conference sweep, senior forward Derek Thorogood has been named the NCHA Offensive Player of the Week announced the league office Tuesday.

Thorogood was a key factor in the sweep of then-ranked No. 5 UW-Stevens Point and UW-Stout with a three-point weekend.  The Calgary, Alta. native opened the weekend with the game-winner against the nationally-ranked Pointers and followed that up a night later with an assist on the game-winner against UW-Stout along with an assist on the final goal of a 3-0 shutout.  Thorogood is currently tied for fourth in the NCHA with four goals on the season.

Marian returns to the ice when they host Saint John’s (Minn.) Friday, Nov. 24 at 7 p.m. from Blue Line in non-conference action.
