Stars sweep Sabre women’s volleyball in first home loss
October 8, 2018
Marian University women’s volleyball (7-9, 3-4 NACC) was defeated at home for the first time this season falling to Dominican 25-21, 25-17, and 25-20.
The Sabre offense would have a tough time figuring out the Dominican defense as the Sabres were held to a .045 hitting percentage in the defeat. Senior Alexandra Meidl had a strong night for the Sabres with a match-high 12 kills off of a .257 hitting percentage and had a pair of service aces.
The Marian back row had a trio of student-athletes reach double figures for digs led by junior Amber Yahr who recorded a double-double with a team-high 12 digs and 18 assists. Junior Sara Komosa and freshman Brooklyn Taylor each chipped in 10 digs.
Marian hits the road for a noon match at Lakeland tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 6, in NACC action.
