DECATUR, Ill. – Marian University men’s golf shot a team score of 317 to finish in 11th place at the Hopkins Collegiate Classic.
Hope College rallied to win the classic with a team score of 584 led by Josh Gibson who shot a second round 64 to finish in first individually by 11 strokes.
Freshman Jake Sherwood improved by two strokes from his first round score with a 72 to finish in a tie for fifth with a 146. Fellow freshman Christian Taylor finished in a tie for 16th with a two-day total of 151, while AJ Rambaud finished with a 164. Freshman Maxwell Dye rounded out the scoring for MU with a 165 and sophomore Aaron Rick concluded the Sabre lineup with a 173.
Marian has a quick turn around opening the MSOE Invite tomorrow, Sunday, Oct. 1, from the Grand Geneva Resort.
