LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Marian University women’s hockey (7-15-2, 4-8-0-3 NCHA) fell 2-1 to Lake Forest to open the final series of the regular season.

Lake Forest was able to build a 2-0 lead after scoring a goal in the first period and second period.  The Sabres were able to cut the deficit down to one goal when junior Brooke Anderson lit the lamp at the 4:22 mark of the third period.  Sophomore Brenna Abrahamson earned an assist on the goal.

The Sabres were outshot 43-21 in the defeat with sophomore Kayla Kolpitcke (7-15-2) putting together her 10th performance with at least 40 saves making 41 stops.  Sophomore Bailey Williams paced the Marian offense with five shots.

Marian hosts the Foresters tomorrow, Saturday, February 19, for a 4 p.m. puck drop to close out the regular season.
