Marian University women’s hockey (4-19-2, 2-12-2 NCHA) fell 5-1 to St. Scholastica in NCHA action to close out the season.

Both defenses dominated early as neither team was able to find the back of the net in the opening period.  The Saints would score a pair of goals in the second period to open the scoring and take a 2-0 lead heading to the third.

Freshman Kristen Bisschop was able to score her first career goal 3:38 into the third period to cut the Marian deficit down to 2-1, assist to sophomore Maegan Shuck.  St. Scholastica responded, however, scoring three unanswered goals in the final 7:21 to close out the 5-1 win.

Senior Molly Gross (1-7-0) made 40 saves between the pipes for Marian with 14 of her saves coming in the final period.
