RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Marian University women’s basketball (3-15, 3-11 NACC) settled for a split in the season series with Concordia Chicago falling 78-51.

The Sabres were out to a slow start in the game as the Cougars were able to take a 21-7 lead after the first 10 minutes.  The second quarter saw a lot of offense but Marian was once again outscored by a 20-19 margin.  This gave Concordia Chicago a 41-26 lead heading into the half.

The CUC offense continued to roll in the fourth quarter with 22 points as the Cougars continued to build on their advantage.  After the most defensive quarter of the game from both teams, CUC was able to defeat the Sabres with a 78-51 final.

Marian was led by sophomore Paris Harris who recorded a game-high 18 points off the bench, while senior Morgan Johnson narrowly missed out on a double-double after scoring 11 points with nine rebounds.

Marian returns home to host Benedictine for a 4:15 p.m. tip Saturday, February 1.
