Marian University women’s basketball (2-22, 2-17 NACC) dropped their final home game of the season by a final of 71-56 against Dominican.
The first quarter saw 11 total turnovers as neither offense found a good grove but Dominican was able to take an early 15-10 lead. The Stars then were able to extend on their lead in the second quarter outscoring the Sabres 19-8.
The second half, however, saw the Sabres keep pace and outscore Dominican 38-37 but Marian was unable to bounce back from their slow second quarter. The Sabres had an especially strong third quarter offensively scoring 23 points off of 7-16 (.438) including 3-4 (.750) from three-point range.
Three Sabres finished in double-digits for scoring led by senior Rachel Serchen who had a team-high 15 points. Freshman Paris Harris and junior Carley Wilson each chipped in with 11 points with seven rebounds.
Marian concludes their season at MSOE Saturday, February 16 for a 2 p.m. tip in NACC action.
