Sabre track and field competes at Titan Challenge

OSHKOSH, Wis. – Marian University track and field traveled to UW-Oshkosh for their final tune-up before the NACC Indoor Championship competing in the Titan Challenge.
The Sabres had four strong performances in the mile run with two personal records and a school record. Jacob Leiden set a school record for the mile on the men’s side finishing in 21st, winning his heat, with a time of 4:55.3. Jarod Silhavy set a personal record for himself in the event finishing with a time of 5:43.94. On the women’s side of the event, Alyssa Zuhlke finished in 19th place with a time of 6:13.07, while Alexis Brost was right behind her at 6:16.98 in 22nd.
Sydney Cihak led the way for Marian in the 400-meter dash finishing in 25th with a time of 1:13.47.
Marian also had another strong showing in field events with Brittney Roser setting a new school record in the shot put. Roser reset her own record with a toss of 11.77-meters to finish in seventh place. It was also the fifth-best toss in the NACC so far this season. Emily Grunwald set a new personal record in the shot put as well with a toss of 8.60-meters to finish in 26th.
In the triple jump, Miera Smith took home a 15th place finish with a jump of 10.11-meters.
Marian travels to Carthage College to compete in the NACC Indoor Championship Sunday, Feb. 25.
