The first set of the match saw each team go point-for-point with the largest lead of the set being only three points after Marian opened with a 3-0 lead. Dominican then went on the first extended run of the match using a 6-2 run to take a 19-14 lead and cruise to the 2-0 lead. A 10-2 run from the Stars after a 7-7 opening gave Dominican a 17-9 lead in the third set and allowed Dominican to earn the sweep.
