Sabre men’s soccer drops NACC opener to Falcons

Marian University men’s soccer (5-3-0, 0-1-0 NACC) fell to Concordia Wisconsin by a 6-1 final in the NACC opener for the Sabres.

Concordia Wisconsin opened the scoring in the 11th minute but the lead didn’t last long as freshman Cade Klusendorf netted his second goal of the season in the 17th minute.  Concordia Wisconsin would manage to take the lead before the half with another goal in the 35th minute.

The Falcons then scored four goals in the second half with a pair coming a little over a minute apart in the 53rd and 54th minute.  The second set of goals came just 49-seconds apart in the 81st and 82nd minute to close out the scoring.

Marian was outshot 25-7 in the loss with freshman David Carmona recording a team-high five shots.  Junior Ian Chacon (5-3-0) made six saves in the losing effort.  Freshman Cory Koehler made four saves in 28:31 of action in his first career appearance.

Marian remains at home when they host Dominican at noon Saturday, Sept. 23 for homecoming.
