CHICAGO – Marian University men’s soccer (5-12-1, 2-9-0 NACC) closed out NACC play falling to IIT by a 1-0 final.
The Sabre offense would have a tough time getting going in the defeat as the Sabres only managed five shots. Two of the five shots were on goal with freshmen Chase Hayden and Emanuel Acosta each recording two shots with one on goal.
Defensively, The Sabres allowed a total of 26 but limited the Scarlet Hawks to only nine shots on goal. Junior Kevin Cervantes (3-10-1) took the loss making three saves on four shots in the first 61:53. Junior Cory Koehler finished out the final 28:07 stopping all five shots he faced. Illinois Tech was able to ride out the victory with a goal at the 38:54.
Marian concludes the season traveling to Northwestern Friday, Nov. 1 for a 7 p.m. kick-off.
