Marian University men’s lacrosse (3-3, 0-1 NACC) could never find their groove and fell to MSOE to open NACC play by a 10-5 final.
The Raiders found the back of the net three times in the opening quarter and held the Sabres scoreless through 15 minutes. Marian was able to cut their deficit down to one on a pair of occasions in the second quarter but MSOE would lead 5-3 going into halftime.
MSOE was able to score five goals in the third quarter and held Marian scoreless for a second quarter to take a commanding 9-3 lead after three quarters. Marian was able to outscore MSOE 2-1 in the final quarter but the tough third quarter led to a 10-5 loss.
Junior Finn Maloney had a pair of goals to lead the offense, while sophomore Dawson Rodin had a pair of assists. Sophomore Cameron Nevins (3-3) made 12 saves on 22 shots between the pipes for the Sabres.
Marian remains at home to take on Benedictine Saturday, April 3 for a 7 p.m. NACC game.
