Sabre men’s golf closes out Midwest Region Classic

GALENA, Ill. – Marian University men’s golf shot a team score of 329 at the second round of the Midwest Region Classic to finish in 16th place.

Edgewood College beat out Wheaton by one stroke for the team title and were led by Zach Hentrich who won the individual title.

Freshman Jake Sherwood shot a team-low 77 for the second round and finished the invite in a tie for 31st with a 159.  Fellow freshman Maxwell Dye only fell off one stroke from his first round score and finished with a 161.  Freshman Christian Taylor and AJ Rambaud closed out the Sabre scoring as they finished one stroke apart with a 165 and 166, respectively.  Sophomore Aaron Rick rounded out the Sabre lineup with a 178.

Marian is next in action at the WLC Fall Invite Sept. 24-25 from Washington County Golf Course.
